2020 Closet Clean Out Challenge Week 1: Tops

What's in your closet?

I cleaned out all of my tops (all seasons, all types)! As I keep my closet organized by clothing type (tops, bottoms, etc.) I was able to do this in less than 30 minutes. In the video, I show each item and discuss the reason that I’ve cleaned out each item. My main reasons for cleaning out items were:

  • Comfort (no more tugging, pulling, or itching!)
  • No longer fit and I don’t love them enough to pay the money to tailor them. I lost some weight over the past few years using an amazing program called Stronger U (see my review of Stronger U and a discount code here).
  • Duplicates or nearly identical items
  • Shirts with no structure
  • Items beyond their useful life
  • Botched tailoring jobs
Watch the video below for in-depth details on what I got rid of and why!

  1. I shop primarily goodwill or places like thred up as it is both greener for the environment and because of a limited budget. I have done this my whole adult life and don’t know how to define my style. Do you have tips for those shopping at consignment type stores either online on in person.

  2. You are my new best friend!! I am going to get started now. I’m in VA if you want to come and help. I LOVE your white cowl-neck sweater with the black stripes. Please bring it to me when you come over to help. For now, I am going to start with the frog legs for an appetizer. Wish me luck. Please arrive shortly.

    1. Good luck Maryann! I do actually help women with all of this as part of my products. You can find out more by clicking on “The Society” and “The Academy” at the top of the page!
