What I Wore 2-13-17

NEW WIW

Welcome to What I Wore Wednesday! Here’s what I wore for a super exciting and busy week as I announced that my blog was live! I was juggling and learning a lot, all while fighting a sinus infection and taking care of my youngest, who was also sick. Oh, and my five other kids 🙂

Happy Valentine’s Week! I love mixing pink and red. I bought this coat in October as an early Christmas gift. Last year I waited until Black Friday to buy the cobalt one and it sold out long before. No cobalt coat for me. Anyway, lesson learned. I decided not to wear it until after Christmas. I love it! Coat J. Crew, navy turtleneck Grace (no longer available, but I like this one and this one), dark denim ankle pants Banana Republic, flats and earrings (similar here, here and here) Express, purse Kate Spade.

A Valentine’s outfit. I know a lot of people hate Valentine’s Day, but I happen to like this holiday. I could wear a variation of this outfit every single day. Blousejeans and flats Express (similar herehere and here), necklace Stella & Dot, purse Kate Spade.

This morning my 6-year-old said, “Mommy I think stripes are your favorite color.” Sweetie, I think you might be right. I am ready for a break from all that color. This is the same necklace I wore yesterday, and I’m trying it out in a new way. Blouse Banana Republic, sweater Loft (similar here and here), jeans Express, flats French Sole (in black and bone here, red here), earrings WHBM (old. But love these!), necklace Stella and Dot.

I guess I’m not ready to say goodbye to Valentine’s Day and pink and red overload. My first blog post email went out to my first audience. That would be those of you who subscribed! Thank you! That means the world to me. It’s the ultimate compliment and such a confidence booster! You’ll never know what all of the support and well wishes mean to me. Sweater J. Crew (and similar color here), pants Express (similar here), flats J. Crew (similar here and here and I really love these!!), earrings Bling (identical here), necklace House of Harlow (on clearance here!!), purse Michael Kors (similar here).

I’m not a social media girl. Ok, I’m not really a social girl. I rarely post on my fb wall, and I rarely check my regular feed. Since I started my blog I had to get on instagram and start sharing my OOTD there. Seeing them all in a concentrated collection showed me I tend to go on style binges. I go in stages of wearing destroyed jeans everyday (good thing I have several pair) or wanting leather everyday. The last couple of weeks it’s been pink and red. My whole feed looks like Valentine’s Day threw up. I still keep reaching for pink and red, but the last two days have gone back to more black and white because I’m feeling overloaded. Does anyone else go on style binges like that, or is it just me?  Cardigan Banana Republic, tee Zenana Outfitters (similar here, here and here), jeans Express (similar here), booties Sam Edelman (similar here,  and here), necklace Sole Society.

I volunteered as a timer at my son’s swim meet, so that means I wear my trusty Tevas. It’s a wet job, so quick-drying shoes that have great traction on wet surfaces is important. Sweater J. Crew (similar color here), jeans Express, shoes Teva, necklace Stella and Dot.

This weekend we are purging books, DVDs, CDS, pictures and negatives. We are sending all the pictures and negatives to be digitally scanned (old pictures that were taken with film cameras). The DVDs are going to Sagebin. They digitize the movies and keep the discs. You can access them anywhere you have WiFi and you can borrow from friends libraries. It’s $5 a month. Has anyone else used this service? My neighbor told me about it. Tee (similar here) and cardigan Banana Republic, jeans Express (similar here), striped flats Rebecca Minkoff (similar here and here), necklace Sole Society.

I met a friend for lunch and ran some errands. This is easy and comfortable for a busy day with my 3-year-old in tow. All morning I felt…off. Then I changed into my destroyed jeans and felt much better. It was all too sweet and prim for me. I need the edge, and I felt so much better after I changed. Remember how I talked about style binges? After I got dressed I realized this is the exact same outfit as yesterday, just different colors. It’s an easy uniform of sorts. Cardigan J. Crew (similar here and here), tee Loft (similar here and here), jeans Express, flats Rebecca Minkoff (similar here and here), earrings Bling (identical here), necklace Banana Republic (similar here), Purse Michael Kors (similar here)
