3 Must-Have Items For Transitional Weather
I know we are all ready for summer to be here. It doesn’t seem to want to happen at my house #letsbringbacksummer. And if you have been reading my blog you know that while I hate winter, I love winter clothes because of the layers and possibilities. The problem is there are still some chilly days here and there, and even in the dead of summer the evenings can be cool. What’s a girl to do when it is not the right time for a summer outfit but we don’t want to look like we are in the wrong season?
There are a few must-haves for your closet during transitional seasons when the weather is in between. I bet you already have them.
3-Quarter Sleeve Shirts
They are perfect for the shifting weather. This is a three-season item for me. Absolutely necessary in the spring and fall, but in the summer there are cooler nights and…air conditioning. There are several choices here from lightweight sweaters to knits to button-ups, and what I love is that they can be layered or worn by themselves when it is not so cool outside. They are the perfect in between sleeve length to keep you comfortable. Plus they pair well with flats, wedges, loafers, boots, heels, pretty much all the shoes. Â
A LIGHTWEIGHT JACKET
Am I the only one who is coldest in the summer? Why must we turn all buildings into refrigerators? I always try to keep a lightweight jacket (or twenty. You know they are my weakness) in my closet, and in my car. If I’m going into the grocery store, I need protection. A jacket a great transitional piece and not tough to find. You probably have one in your closet. They can be the perfect cover for those chilly nights out. Or the arctic cold of the indoors. I would suggest neutral colors to start, and a white or dark wash denim jacket pairs well with a lot of different patterns and material.
Jackets are one place I love to bring in my Classic Style Twist (I’m Edgy Classic), like with the metallic navy moto jacket above. You can take the quiz below to find out yours!
THE RIGHT PAIR OF SNEAKERS
Sandals are great, but sometimes it’s a matter of comfort. I especially love sneakers in the summer with all the kids’ activities during this time and all the running around for errands. But why should we compromise style for comfort? Depending on your style or mood, there is a sneaker out there for you. Sneakers are definitely more Sporty Classic, but you can add elements from the other Classic Style Twists as well. Polka dots or florals would add some Cute Classic. I got an Edgy Classic vibe with these leopard sneakers (they are my favorite!) Not only do they add an instant cool factor, but it’s like walking on marshmallows. They are so comfortable!
