As much as I love, love, love the rich autumn shades and want to wear them this time of year, they don’t flatter me. This year I decided to make my own fall-inspired looks out of the bold colors in my wardrobe. Stay tuned as I continue to make bold options look like fall.
Have you checked out the new Shop My Finds page? I update it at least once a week, and there are several new finds there today! How are you liking the selection? Anything else you want to see there?
I am so excited to be interviewed by Deborah Thomas of Essentially Deborah (and one of the Type 4 Dressing Your Truth Experts) on her Facebook Live today at 12:30 MDT. I’ve admired her poise and style for a long time, and I can’t wait to get to know her better! So tune in to her Facebook page here!
I love the green and navy combo. It’s bold but still feels like fall. I skipped a necklace and went with a big earring instead. I have parent teacher conferences this afternoon for 5 of my kids. That’s always fun. #imafungirl This green isn’t the forest green of the typical fall palette, but I love it paired with navy, which is my fall neutral instead of brown. My boys have their first swim meet of the season, and I always wear their team color, purple, to the meets. It’s a little cooler and might rain today, so I pulled out my turquoise trench coat. I love this combo as a replacement for burgundy and teal. I wore purple eye makeup and lips as well. Tee similar here, here. See my round up of trench coats here. Flats similar here, here, here. I’m surprised by how much I love this metallic swan tee. I didn’t realize until after I accessorized that my necklace and ear climbers both mirror the swan’s tail feathers. This is an outfit of necessity and practicality. Today we are harvesting the garden and doing a lot of batch cooking for the freezer. I need to be comfortable, washable and ready to work. We ended up with more tomatoes than I realized were out there, so I made 12 batches of chicken tortilla soup, 9 batches of chili (recipe coming Friday!), and roasted tomato soup concentrate. We also froze bags of diced and sliced peppers, and fermented 24 pints of banana peppers and jalapenos. This reddish orange stripe is a perfect fall color. Tee similar here, here, here. Jeans here. It’s crisp and sunny outside, so leggings and boots and plaid for me! The vibrant blue is my absolute favorite! Faux leather leggings are my dream pants, and these boots are killer. Just enough heel to be sassy, but short enough to wear all day. Cobalt blue isn’t your typical fall color, but the plaid pattern is, as are the boots. Shirt here. Faux leather leggings here.
