What I Wore 12-30-16

NEW WIW

Another full day of decluttering calls for comfort: flannel and moccasins in my favorite colors. We have made progress! Christmas is put away, the cold storage room is done, the main storage room is mostly done. I cleared out my poshmark selling closet. We moved our washer and dryer downstairs to the basement laundry room so the upstairs one can be only a mudroom. We’ve sorted a lot of pictures, but not all. Flannel J. Crew, jeans Express, moccasins Bearpaw, earrings Lia Sophia.

Do I look like a zombie? I felt like a zombie. We took a break from home projects today and focused on a few other things. We needed the break from manual labor, especially since we are all sick. Tee Banana Republic, waxed jeans and booties Mindy Mae’s Market, necklace Lulu Frost. Lipsense blu-red.

We haven’t gone out for NYE since before we had kids. Adam always asks, and I always say no thanks. This year I said I want to go out and I want to wear something shiny. I ordered this silver sequin skirt and another dress, but the dress didn’t arrive on time. Silver skirt for the win! We went out to dinner and then ballroom/social dancing. It was magical. This was a 10-second picture I took as we ran out the door. Turtleneck Ann Taylor (similar here), skirt Macy’s (similar here, here), shoes DSW (so I had two pairs of black patent strappy heels, the ones in the picture, which ended up being 5 inches tall and I couldn’t walk out of the bathroom in, and the Ivanka Trump ones. I ended up wearing and keeping the Ivanka Trump heels here, but didn’t have time for a new picture), necklace Lulu Frost.

My husband told me I look European, which is a high compliment in my book. We spent the morning putting away more of the mess that was created during last week’s purge, and this afternoon I went out with my friend who is in town. Shopping with her is so funny. “You know those boots also come in a matte color if the shiny is too much.” Um, no, I’ll pass on the matte. Bring me the shiny! Sweater Michael Kors (similar here and here), coat J. Crew, scarf Nordstrom (similar here), jeans Express, boots L.K. Bennett, Lipsense Electric Tangerine.

more cleaning up the purging aftermath, and flannels seem to be my cleaning uniform right now. I found these Dr. Scholls pointed toe cushioned woven leather sneaker flats last night at DSW. Could it be? Can I really have T4/3 travel shoes? Not sure how I feel about the white bottoms. I’m wearing them around the house while I clean, but when we go out to the movie this afternoon (must reward the free labor), I’ll switch into snow boots bc it snowed last night, and it’s cold out there! Flannel  Joe Fresh, pants Express, shoes Dr. Sholls, Lipsense Kiss For a Cause.

I needed black today. I layered a striped tee under this sweater and unzipped the side zip. I wish I had a longer striped tee. I’ve decided to go buy a striped knit fabric to stitch in there permanently so I can unzip and stripe at will. Sweater NY&CO (similar here), waxed jeans Mindy Mae’s Market, boots Sam Edelman (similar here,  and here), earrings Paparazzi, necklace Charming Charlie

Fresh haircut, and this is my favorite yet! I also went darker. Jacket 32 Degrees (similar here and here)

It was -4 degrees when I woke up this morning. That calls for seriously warm clothes. I’ve always thought Uggs were really…ugly. Comfy and warm, but ugly. But then I found THESE. Love them, and now I can justify wearing them outside of the house because they are *fancy*. Navy and white sweater J. Crew, navy jeans with faux leather panels Express (similar here), boots Uggs (similar here and here). Lipsense blu-red.

Church on a snowy, dreary day. I couldn’t wear heels bc I would have fallen on the ice or soaked my foot in a snow bank. Treacherous. So, I lifted my spirits with black and silver :). The skirt has faux leather panels and I painted the zippers silver. I love these boots with the shiny leather and silver and super fitted cut. Black turtleneck Ann Taylor (similar here), leather skirt DE Collection (similar here and here), boots Michael Kors, Lipsense blu-red.
