Burgundy is always on my list and here are a few of my favorites!
My obsession with burgundy continues
You thought I forgot, didn’t you? My annual burgundy post is a little later in the year than usual, but I still love this color so much I could drink it. I positively CRAVE it in the fall and winter. In the spring and summer I don’t give it much thought, in fact it feels a little too dark and heavy (this coming from the girl who could happily wear all black all year). But when summer ends, I trade in my hot pink for burgundy, and it feels. so. right.
Finding the perfect burgundy for my coloring (I follow a color palette close to the Winter seasonal color analysis with a few of my own tweaks) was a labor of love, and I explained all about the color theory of burgundy in this post.
Last year my burgundy obsession led me to hunt down the perfect pieces to include in the Stunning Style Fall Wardrobe Guide, and again last winter. And again this winter. The Society members love it as much as I do! The winter membership is closed, but you can be the first to know when I launch the spring Guide by joining the wait list.
Color can come in small or large doses, and when I want a little burgundy, I wear this makeup look. I shared more burgundy makeup finds for those of you who obsess as much as I do. If you want more burgundy outfit inspiration, I’ve got you covered!
My outfits are always on the edgy side of classic, but you can bring in your own Classic Style Twist and use these outfits for inspiration. Not sure what your twist is? Take the quiz below to find out!

Actually, let’s start with my nails. This is the color I asked for every single time this fall. If you saw my post about how to get an inexpensive manicure and pedicure, you know that I’ve got a standing nail appointment every three weeks. I go to my friend, and she doesn’t even ask what color I want in the fall. She already knows.
I. heart. this outfit so much, and so did my Instagram audience! If you’re not following me there, you should! I share my daily outfits, and I would love to see you there. These burgundy cords are on the red end of burgundy, and I included them in the Winter Wardrobe Guide last year, and again this year, but I loved wearing them all fall as well.
Adding a denim jacket and leopard belt changed up this look for a more casual vibe, and I love the pop of color with the burgundy.
Turquoise is my signature color, and I love to pair it with burgundy in the fall. I have a weakness for outerwear, specifically trench coats, and finding one in one of my unicorn colors was such a win.
I created the same color combination here, but let the turquoise be the star of the show. These pants transitioned from the Spring Guide to my fall wardrobe by pairing them with these burgundy flats.
The burgundy cords get an edgier vibe with a moto jacket and leopard accessories. I wore these so much I could do an entire post about how I wore them. Maybe I should!
This outfit makes me feel like modern day Elsa from Frozen. And my daughters agree. My littlest told me I need white hair now. Mother Nature is working on that for me, so in a few years, I’ll be able to oblige.
STunner of the week
“My favorite thing about my membership in the Society is that it’s helped me hone in on a more finished look that suits my personal style. Knowing that my style twist is Cute Classic leads me to look for small cute details like the ruffle on this green sweater.” – Laura L.
Laura looks fantastic in her version of this outfit from the Winter Wardrobe Guide! With just a few Cute Classic details she is telling her style story and looking fabulous!
