Must-Have Items for Transitional Weather

Stay Comfortable All Spring WIth These Essentials

We have been working our way through a series of must-have items for transitional weather and today I’m sharing part two. Having these essentials in your spring wardrobe will make you feel ready for anything the calendar (or the weather) will throw at you. The best part is that I’ve already found these pieces and included them in the Spring Wardrobe Guide! If you want the easy button solution, I would love to have you join us in the Stunning Style Society and help you curate a spring wardrobe that feels perfectly you.

Versatile Footwear

Bears are not the only ones who are starting to venture out after a long winter’s nap. Spring sports are starting up, more activities and invitations are on the calendar, and we are getting more active whether the weather is ready or not. So, what do we need in our spring wardrobes to take on the season? On Friday we talked about how we need a great jacket for layering because the temperatures are all over the place, and today in part two of this series we’re talking about another spring essential and another personal favorite of mine, shoes!

Of course we’re wearing shoes, we aren’t neanderthals, but sometimes the trickiest item to plan for this time of year is footwear. The weather could require anything from snow boots to rain boots to sandals. Whatever your schedule looks, like make sure you have a great pair of shoes that can take you anywhere and weather the elements. Will it be some versatile snow boots? If the spring showers have already begun, you may need rain boots or some other waterproof shoe at the ready. Sandals are another great option when the temperatures are warmer, but sometimes it’s a matter of comfort.

Let me show you a couple of the ones we’ve already talked about. These are insulated rain boots, so it keeps my feet really warm if it’s cold outside and it’s great for rainy weather on those wet days when the weather is still cool.

If you really need comfort and you want a shoe that can meet a lot of these needs for you, I especially love sneakers in the spring. With all of our kids’ activities, running around for errands, carpooling, sports, and the weather surprises that come with being outside, many styles of sneakers or tennis shoes are perfect for a variety of weather scenarios. We don’t have to compromise style for comfort, and depending on your style or mood there is a sneaker out there for you. I especially love these leopard sneakers.

They’re a great option for running around every day and although they’re not always the shoes that I would choose for my outfit, I am definitely a function over fashion girl. I cannot be twisting my ankle in a pair of wedges or slipping on the pavement at swim meets. I have to be safe and comfortable, and sneakers often fit the bill. Not every sneaker is great for wet weather, but a lot of them can get you through those rainy days as well.

Get Inspired This Spring!

With the Stunning Style Classic Wardrobe Guides, shopping for and styling these transitional shoes is effortless, and that’s why I create them for you every season. In the spring guide, I chose 35 pieces and put them together into 100 outfit templates so that you can see exactly how to wear them. You don’t have to guess, it’s all right there for you and then you can mix it up to make it work for you. After that I put the outfits on calendars so you don’t even have to choose your outfit for the day! You don’t have to use the calendars, but I often do because I already make too many decisions in a day, and getting dressed doesn’t have to be one of them.

One question that I’ve been getting a lot in my inbox is “how expensive are the items in the guide?” First of all, the wardrobe guides are based on classic pieces that you likely have in your wardrobe already. Society members are never ever expected or obligated to buy any new clothes. It’s not about going out and buying an all-new wardrobe. The links are there if you need them, but it is not the purpose to buy a whole new wardrobe. The price point really varies from item to item so there’s something for every budget. It depends on the season, but there are always sales and many of our members thrift things or find pre-loved items often. It really is up to you. It can cost as little or as much as you want it to. We always stick to our budgets! We talk about this in the Society, and we never go into debt over clothes and shoes. It’s just not worth it. I work hard to find nice quality items that will last you for several seasons so you’ll get a lot of wear out of them, but not so expensive that you need a second mortgage to pay for them.

Another question I get a lot is “are there options for petite and plus size?” The answer is yes! These options are available in the shopping portal. You can filter by specialty sizes and we try to find as many of those options as possible to help you find exactly what you’re looking for.

I would love to have you join me in the Stunning Style Society! You can join the waitlist here as we only opn four times per year: www.stunningstyle.com/society.
